“How do you market yourself on the internet?” is a question we get asked a lot by the solicitors, accountants, architects and patent and trade mark attorneys we work with so here are 5 of the practical tips we usually incorporate somewhere in our answer:
1. Design matters
Your online marketing channels (e.g. your website, social media and e-bulletins) should reflect your brand and give the same impression you’d want to create in person and in hard copy.
2. Use Google Analytics
Google analytics will help you find out what topics your clients and targets are searching for. By using the specific words your searches highlight you will improve your online rankings and make it easier for people to find you.
3. Be clear, simple and concise
Increasingly people access on line information from smartphones and iPads, not from their desk top so you need to get straight to the point and present what you want to get across in as few words as possible.
4. Grab people’s attention
Too many blogs have bland and uninspiring titles. Rather than say “Legal update 123”, use an engaging title like “How you can avoid the pain of a visit from HMRC”.
5. Use real life examples
If you claim you have specific expertise, demonstrate it online by using case studies and sharing client testimonials which will highlight your credentials better than copy ever will.
